YES...CONUNDRUM.because I am not sure how and what I want to vent about this time. So much has gone down since my last blog, I need to vent but what is worse to vent about .......hospital trip or family split?
In April I had a stroke and really got to see all the inefficiencies I talked about in previous blogs first hand. The only good thing about this trip is that I do applaud the staff of nurses that looked after me.All I will say about the rest is where some people are warned to prepare for disasters like have batteries, radio etc. etc. I would say to prepare for a hospital emergency. make sure you have a container in your freezer of your favorite foods and a tape recorder with instructions for the ambulance driver. The reasoning for this is that if the stroke doesn't kill you....starvation or radiation will!!!Taping would be your proof and a stash of goodies would keep you away from starving. When you did get something edible ...you never got to eat it as they came and took you off for some double ordered test of some kind and on your return, your tray had been removed!!! I spent the first 3 nights on a stretcher, since no beds were available which was an "un"moving experience. If you did move you would have had a broken hip to add to your other troubles. When on a stretcher "do not try to turn over"
On this visit I had no less than 2 more double booked tests, just like last January's
I was blessed that this stroke left with me my "marbles' so I was able to set them straight. But I sure went for a lot of rides around the building.....By the time I left....I was getting private help from the kitchen coming in to take my order!!!!
They couldn't get me out of there fast enough! No wonder people have to wait so long for tests, because they are so busy unnecessarily-doing all the in-patients over and over again.
Perhaps this is enough ranting and leaving this blog to science since after a period of about 50 years I finally stopped smoking!!! Just too bad it took a stroke to do it, but 'dems 'da breaks.
